Cordaid-Mediation Agency for Return: Migration Study
Message from Cordaid-Mediation Agency for Return 11-07-2007:
A monitoring study in eight different countries of origin will be inititated by the Cordaid-Mediation Agency for Return/ Maatwerk bij Terugkeer. This study will be done by eight different students from the University of Amsterdam and the Radboud University of Nijmegen. They will start their field survey in august 2007 and will spend two months interviewing returnees and key persons.
The outcome of this field survey will be based on the following performance indicators;
- welfare position and employment status of return migrants;
- identity formation;
- sense of belonging as a socio-cultural condition for enhancing community integration;
- willingness to invest.
Monitoring the returnees will provide us with essential information about our methodology on voluntary return and will give us an inside look in the outcome of our work. With these results we would like to answer the question whether Cordaid sufficiently invests in its partners so that the partners can offer adequate guidance to returnees. The temporary list of countries is as such: Afghanistan, Angola, Armenia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Togo / Benin, and Vietnam.
If you have any question or input in these monitoring studies, please contact the project coordinator of the Cordaid-Mediation Agency for Return, Henk Hofste tel: +31 70 3161242, e-mail: henk.hofste@cordaid.nl or maatwerk@cordaid.nl
