Mediation Agency for Return will continue in Utrecht

Changes concerning the Mediation Agency for Return.
In 2007 the board of directors of CORDAID decided that the Cordaid-Mediation Agency for Return will cease to exist in its present form from the 1st of January 2008 on.

We have investigated the possibilities to continue the work of the Mediation Agency for Return. This has resulted in the decision to extend our project for 6 months, up until the 30th of June 2008. This extension period was needed to create an opportunity to form a new return agency from the 1st of July 2008. Within this new return agency all organisations in the Netherlands involved in voluntary return will collaborate. The new return agency will continue the work from the Mediation Agency for Return from CORDAID.

From January 1 2008, CORDAID and the Dutch Refugee Council will take up the managerial responsibilities. The Mediation Agency for Return will move to a different office in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and the current executive team will change in form and size. These are the only changes, our work will continue as before. All the open files will move to the new office and new (potential) returnees will be assisted. The contacts with partner organisation in countryies of return, will be as important as before. When we have news about the return agency from the 1st of July 2008 we will inform you immediately.
